Roudoku no Mori (Kids Reading Workshop Class)

What Is Roudoku no Mori?

"Roudoku no Mori", which literally means " Forest of Reading", is a reading workshop class for Japanese and foreign young children. We provide reading and discussion sessions coordinated by professional narration lecturers on a weekly basis and help the children develop their thinking ability, as well as generousity and creativity, in an enjoyable way.

The lessons are conducted mainly in Japanese. Students can learn Japanese by reading the texts out loud. Japanese language fluency is not required; English speaking staff will be there to assist the students if necessary.

Various kinds of materials are introduced in the class, such as old tales from around the world, educational stories and so on. After reading aloud the text together, students are expected to exchange feed backs and discuss some topics. They may also create short stories on their own during the class.

Reading not only nurtures the children's language skills but also works on their lifestyle habits and personality, such as poised demeanor and  wide knowledge.

It will also be a good opportunity for the children to communicate with local Japanese children.
